Progress report

I've been resting for a few days, after having taken the weekend off to go to Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Notre Dame game on Saturday, which most of you know Michigan won, 38-34. I'm not yet willing to let Rich Rodriguez keep his job, but since I don't have the money to buy out his contract, I suppose he'll have to stay. But he still has a lot to prove after last year, as far as I'm concerned.
Tomorrow, the 16th, the walk will resume, around Zeeland, Michigan. I'll begin to slowly increase the daily mileage.
I've devised a crude method of showing the route, with each of the four walks so far. I just took a photo of a map, after having marked it up.
There is a better way, I know, but I haven't yet figured out how to import a map from Google into the post. I'm missing some small but important piece of information, sort of like Lamarck was when he was working on his pre-Darwinian theory of evolution. (Okay, that was pretty grandiose, I admit.)

Glad to see your progress on a map. It's easier for us to follow your progress if we don't know the area. Keep up the good work! We're watching!!!

I found out today that my niece is in the UofM Marching Band...the real one, not the Hockey pep band or something. That makes me the proud uncle.

PS Go easy on RichRod. Old style Big Ten football doesn't get it anymore. In case everyone hasn't noticed, the Big Ten is getting their collective asses kicked around the stadium in post season play (especially those hairless nuts, the Buckeyes) by teams like USC, LSU, and Texas. We don't want to become irrelevant, like the Ivy League. I mean, who cares about Yale vs. Dartmouth anymore? Nobody. New blood, new game plan. Go Blue.

Oh, man, don't get me started. Any true Big Ten fan knows that winning the national championship with that wacked out BCS thing isn't what it's all about. It's getting to the Rose Bowl. And after that, if USC or whoever wins, so what? It's a trip out west in the winter. I would hardly say that Michigan's record up until last year was heading them toward irrelevancy. They're still the winningest team in college football. But thanks to Rodriguez they lost 9 games for the first time in 130 years.

By the way, how about those Chippewas? That was sweet.
